The following 'shared experience' comes from Ermira Kamberi, the Class of 2007.
Yesterday, in my Introduction to Anthropology class we discussed how people often bring stupid decisions. Well, I have made a few, too, after graduating from NOVA. But, at the same time I also made a very wise decision – I chose to study in a liberal arts institution. I realized that with the multiple interests that I have a liberal arts institution could offer me the best opportunities to develop and deepen my knowledge.
Currently, I am a Junior at the American University in Bulgaria, majoring in Political Science and International Relations. I am also doing two minors: European Studies and Anthropology. The funny thing is that I enjoy studying my minor in Anthropology more than the two principal fields. Thus, in the near future I am planning to pursue a graduate program that is closely related to Cultural Anthropology (maybe Migrations, Intercultural Relations, or Conflict and Conflict Resolution.) I am also participating in the International Student Exchange Program and I’ll be attending University of Iowa next year (Spring 2011.) That is another wise decision I have made recently. I am very excited about going to UoI and eager to learn the opportunities that come along with this experience.
